On September 21, 2024, CPPC Public Company Limited, as part of the Charoen Pokphand Group’s packaging business, brought together employees from all departments to restore the cleanliness and beauty of Saeng Chan Beach, Rayong, in honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day 2024. CPPC employees united as volunteers to clean the beach, aiming to restore the environment and contribute to long-term sustainability, with the goal of creating lasting change for the community and environment.
This mission emphasized the importance of raising awareness of the impact of waste on the environment. The collected waste was sorted into three categories:
- Non-recyclable waste: Converted into RDF fuel for use in power plants
- Recyclable waste: Sent to recycling programs to be repurposed
- Hazardous waste: Properly handled by local authorities
Mr. Sumeth Srinual, General Manager of Human Resources and Administration, emphasized that the company took great pride in its participation in the beach cleanup, noting that even small actions like this event could have a significant long-term impact on the environment. He highlighted that the initiative also reflects CPPC’s commitment to their “Three Benefits” principle, which focuses on benefiting the country, the people, and the business.
“We take great pride in participating in this beach cleanup event. Though we may be starting with small actions, we are committed to making a difference for the environment. Moreover, this activity reflects our dedication to the ‘Three Benefits’ principle, which prioritizes the country, the people, and the business,” said Mr. Sumeth.
