On Thailand’s National Tree Day, which coincides annually with Visakha Bucha Day (the full moon of the 6th lunar month), Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) has continued its long-term commitment to environmental sustainability through the “We Grow…Growing for Sustainability” initiative. The project aims to plant 20 million trees by 2025, supporting the Group’s strategic goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
This year, executives and volunteer employees from the Carbon Zero Club under CPPC Group, a key business unit of CP Group, took part in tree-planting activities across several provinces. Participating locations included C.P. Poly-Industry Co., Ltd. in Nakhon Ratchasima; CPPC Public Co., Ltd. and its paper core factory; CPPC Poly Material Co., Ltd.; and Advanced Pipe Co., Ltd. in Rayong; as well as C.P. Packaging Industry Co., Ltd., which operates facilities in Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao, and Rayong.
These activities focused on planting perennial tree species suitable for each location’s natural environment. This approach helps increase biodiversity and enhances the area’s capacity to absorb carbon dioxide—an important part of climate change mitigation that aligns with the organization’s long-term environmental vision.
The success of these efforts was made possible by strong collaboration among executives, employees, and volunteers from the Carbon Zero Club, who play a vital role in promoting organizational engagement and strengthening ties with local communities. With a shared belief that “one tree may seem small alone, but together, many can make a world of difference,” CPPC continues to foster environmental awareness from within.
